Nipa Huts (Pronounced Ni-Pa) are used in some Asian countries for inexpensive housing. They are made of bamboo and Palm grasses to provide shelter from the rain and sun. They may not have the modern conveniences for our standards but they are beautifully and skillfully crafted..

According to the esteemed scholar, Prof. G. Weidman Groff, the longan is less important to the Chinese as an edible fruit, more widely used than the lychee in Oriental medicine
